Riyashad Ahmed is an Assistant Professor of Finance and Director of Research at BRAC Business School (BBS), BRAC University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is appointed as the Chair of the BBS Research Committee. He also served as the Director of the EMBA Program at BBS during the period 2015 - 2020. He joined BRAC Business School in January 2014. Prior to joining BRAC University, Riyashad taught seven years as a full-time Senior Lecturer at the School of Business, North South University, Bangladesh. 

Riyashad has completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with Merit from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, the UK with a concentration in Finance. In addition, he has been awarded a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with Distinction majoring in Finance from Canada. He was a recipient of the prestigious Dean’s Honours List for consecutive two years at St. Francis Xavier University, Canada. 

Having more than 14 years of work experience as a university lecturer, researcher, trainer, career counselor, and consultant in the area of corporate finance, he has worked closely with a range of organizations and individuals during the employment tenure and research work period in both the United Kingdom and Canada. 

He has a keen interest in teaching, training, and consulting particularly in the area of corporate finance, foundation courses in banking and financial institutions, financial accounting, financial management, financial forecasting, and business management. He has conducted numerous training sessions on various topics in finance and accounting to corporate managers and executives. 

He teaches Managerial Finance, Corporate Finance, International Financial Management, Financial Accounting, Intermediate Financial Accounting, and Business Economics at the university. His areas of research interest are Corporate Financial Management, Financial Analyses, Corporate Capital Structure Decisions, and Dividend Policy.
